Aristocat beats the heat: Metro Detroit facing hottest heat wave since 1988
As the midwest prepares to battle a relentless onslaught of storms and heat, Aristocat Transportation urges you to travel smart and prepared, as well as inform our friends of our precautions for the upcoming weather.
The week is expected to remain in the 90s and even 100s index consistently. O-Zone and air quality alerts have also been issued for those traveling to or living in Michigan with respiratory issues.
To keep cool, it is recommended to take common safety precautions such as
- keep hydrated: Aristocat provides refreshments in all vehicles
- wear light colored and thinner clothing if possible
- for outings and dates, travel more in the night time
- wear sunscreen or sunblock with UV protection
- look after the elderly and children
- keep up-to-date with forecasts on tv, mobile phone, and radio
- traffic signs and freeway signs across the Metro will provide the temperature and ozone warnings
Aristocat Transportation’s on site mechanics and porters work around the clock to check air conditioning units and stock cars with plenty of water and ice.
The heat may mean a longer wait for cool air in limousines. Air conditioning is not designed to instantly lower temperatures 10 to 15 degrees in a short amount of time- they are more designed to maintain a consistent temperature. In addition to leather seats and driving in the sun, sometimes a 30-minute head start isn’t enough to chill a jumbo-sized limousine. Keep this in mind when booking last minute or long drives.
